Can you love your work? Is the career as fulfilling now since it was when you first started? Actually, maybe it was ever fulfilling?
For Middle-agers and kids alike, generally the answer to these questions isn't any. And that's really a shame, because if you do not enjoy everything you do, what is the part of carrying it out?
The obvious answer to that is money. People stand up every day, drag themselves off the bed, endure an unpleasant commute to work and spend all day at a job they dislike in order to settle the debts. At the end of the day they do it all once more backwards.
They endure the painful commute back home, eat some dinner, maybe consider relaxing somewhat, go to sleep and the cycle repeats. It's really no approach to live a life, specifically if you are one of those Seniors nearing the fabled Golden Years.
Why is this? So why do a lot of us spend a great deal of our everyday life slaving away at something we actually tend not to do, and enduring all the discomfort from doing the work? Again, the reason is of course money-we need to make a living.
I get it- I did it for a long time myself. I realize the motivation, and I have empathy for your reasoning. But ultimately, I got fed up. My career no longer excited me, and my life no more fulfilled me. It was time to maneuver on, also to change.
So I did. Fortunately that can be done that as well.
Easily had to boil it as a result of one thing, I do believe I'd say it was all about passion. Specifically, about finding yours.
My belief is that a lot of people that are dissatisfied using their jobs-and by extension, their lives-are working simply as a way of making money. They go to operate everyday, but they're not really emotionally or intellectually engaged with what they actually do. This can be a problem, because without that type of emotional and intellectual engagement, work alone isn't enough. It will become a daily, tedious exercise in futility.
When you think about how people often start finding a job however, this shouldn't be a large surprise. Remember your school years, and it is an easy task to find the problem. We spend a great deal time focusing on getting that all-important degree that we don't really consider what happens after we have it.
Graduation day comes, we take our walk, have that little bit of parchment, and all of an abrupt understand that the party's over. You need to go to work. When that somewhat desperate thought settles in, many young adults, operating more from the survival mode than a planning mindset, consider the the very first thing occurs.
And with that, a complete career path can be cast from simply desperation. For much so many people, that occupation lasts a lifetime, although it really had nothing to use personal interest as well as motivation.
The main thing to keep in mind is always that it's rarely far too late to improve. Don't think that you're in a career prison with no hope of escape. In the event that's what your location is, you place yourself there-and you may get yourself out.
